ROAR Wines is a family-owned winery specializing in small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Viognier from the Santa Lucia Highlands. In addition to our production of small lot wines, our facility also includes several client wineries working with fruit from Sonoma, Mendocino, and Monterey counties.
We are currently looking for harvest interns for the 2017 vintage to work at our urban production facility in San Francisco. Harvest at ROAR offers a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of small lot wine production. As an intern, you will work directly with a variety of winemakers and their different production styles in a single harvest.
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who can follow written and verbal instructions to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates for the position should be passionate about wine, have positive attitudes, be detailed-oriented, and willing to work hard.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Equipment and Tank Sanitation
• General Winery Cleanliness
• Sorting and Destemming
• Inoculations and Additions
• Fermentation Monitoring and Cap Management
• Drain & Press Operations
• Barrel Preparation
Duration: September to November 2017
