Brand Director (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Major Responsibilities
BRAND STRATEGY AND PLANNING:
  1. Lead the development and oversee the execution of portfolio's long-term strategic and annual plans, including:
    • Category, competitor, brand analysis
    • Bottom up shipment and depletion forecasts, and purchase plans
    • Brand positioning, portfolio mix and annual roadmaps
    • Marketing & Sales plans (including PR, events, media, trade and consumer programs)
    • Channel strategy and specific & effective growth drivers
    • Supply and Demand Planning
    • Market and Consumer Insights and feedback into plans
  2. Develop and implement pricing strategies and programs to achieve volume and profit targets.
  3. Provide clear direction to sales organization and external stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with VP Marketing on sharpening overall company marketing strategy.
MEDIA, TRADE AND CONSUMER PROGRAMS:
  1. Develop media, trade, influencer and consumer programs to grow brands' awareness, trial and market share within targeted markets and oversee execution (supporting efforts when needed).
  2. Guide internal and external PR and marketing agencies in program/creative development.
  3. Effectively manage 6 priority brands to meet or exceed objectives including 3 whiskies (Nikka, Kavalan, Glenrothes), 2 modifiers (Luxardo and Tempus Fugit), and 1 premium niche cognac (Hine).
  4. Track KPIs and measure brand and program effectiveness.
  5. Develop and execute mitigations with sales team when needed.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION:
  1. Work closely with internal sales, marketing, finance, supply and leadership teams to effectively communicate and be a champion for the brand strategy and marketing plans.
  2. Oversee monthly and quarterly updates to suppliers adding guidance and insights on US brand opportunity, planning and brand performance reviews when needed.
  3. Effectively communicate brand programs/clear guidelines and to trade partners and external stakeholders.
  4. Develop feedback loops to incorporate input from stakeholders into the brand management process.
  5. Help build and maintain effective business relationships with key trade, retailers and wholesalers.
  6. Travel to key markets in support of new product launches, surveys, major initiatives, etc. and report brand and competitive findings and market-driven recommendations to Marketing VP.
  7. Develop exceptional marketing talent coaching, teaching and supporting direct reports to achieve their objectives and growth goals.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING:
  1. Oversee brand budgets to ensure profit goals and acceptable ROI.
  2. Perform ongoing Analysis of the market, competition and consumer trends to identify emerging trends and business issues/opportunities.
  3. Work with Sales Team to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and motivate sales and wholesaler teams to achieve defined goals.
  4. Collaborate with Sales Operations Manager to prepare Quarterly business reviews.
INNOVATION MANAGEMENT/NEW ITEM LAUNCHES:
  1. Review and recommend on new item launches (price chains, role in brand/company, strategy) and oversee launches.

  1. Develop and oversee breakthrough US brand/portfolio strategy to drive short and long term volume/profit growth targets
  2. Effectively manage 6 priority brands to meet or exceed objectives (overseeing brand maintenance and key programs); brands include 3 whiskies (Nikka, Kavalan, Glenrothes), 2 modifiers (Luxardo and Tempus Fugit), and 1 premium niche cognac (Hine)
  3. Lead and manage two direct report Associate brand managers in their supplier, sales, and US brand support/execution (day to day delegation, supervision, and teaching)
  4. Maximize budget and optimize pricing + portfolio mix
  5. Manage + Develop key Stakeholder relationships to be preferred import partner (across 4 tiers)
