NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MARKET MANAGER (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, this position is responsible for creating on-premise and off-premise placements in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. This position will work alongside our distributor to hit sales goals, target key accounts, retain points-of-distribution and grow awareness of our brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create sustainable on-premise and off-premise placements.
  • Grow off-premise and chain placements.
  • Create account list and make direct sales calls and visits.
  • Present new wines to distributors and accounts.
  • Spend 75% of time out in the field.
  • Identify target accounts.
  • Build and leverage relationships with local distributor representatives.
  • Plan work-with schedules on a regular basis.
  • Oversee and monitor pricing and support strategies.
  • Conduct sales training in accounts.
  • Represent/pour at account, PR and industry events.
  • Provide local support for Northern California PR efforts.
  • Use company tools and KPIs to deliver on sales goals.
  • Effectively utilize budget and track expenses.
  • Submit and maintain price change forms with distributors.
  • Provide weekly reports on activity, progress and market opportunities.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years of wholesale wine sales experience.
  • Extremely strong sales skills and proven track record.
  • Existing account and market relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow up consistently, punctually and proactively.
  • Must be organized, thorough and deliberate.
  • A personable, professional personality.
  • Take instruction and provide constructive feedback while working independently.
  • Possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and clean DMV record
  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverage industry.
  • Ability to use and adapt to new sales tools and technology.
  • Understanding of three-tier price structure.
  • Permanently reside in San Francisco Bay Area.
