We are currently seeking a seasoned Marketing Manager to create, execute, and analyze the success of our electronic and in-store marketing. With a category-neutral approach, the Marketing Manager will utilize industry best practices and analytics to build new campaigns, measure the results, and balance the various marketing opportunities presented by our regional buyers at K&L. Additionally, this position will play an important role in K&L’s social media presence (Blogs, Instagram, Twitter), pay-per-click marketing campaigns (Google, Facebook), and product data feeds (WineSearcher, Google Shopping etc.).
General Responsibilities – Email Marketing
The Marketing Manager will coordinate the creation of category-specific, target list emails to K&L customers based on their email subscription preferences and purchase history. All marketing emails will be evaluated using analytics to work toward continually improving our message, layout, as well as determining the right mix of products to offer.
• Co-Author compelling marketing content with K&L buyers to both “tell the story” and maximize sales
• Format emails using HTML, CSS and Photoshop to K&L design specifications
• Increase sales with strategically allocated participation from all category buyers - being mindful of overall limits on email quantity in a 30-day period
• Function as company-wide marketing analyst using custom reporting to continually refine and improve our efforts
• Maintain awareness of overall Company email schedule to ensure that individual category marketing efforts and larger corporate email campaigns are properly calibrated
General Responsibilities – In-Store Marketing
The Marketing Manager will ensure that electronic and in-store marketing efforts are aligned
• Ensure that electronic marketing themes are extended to the retail stores
• Work with retail store managers to coordinate placement of products and POS signage from major email campaigns
• Manage monthly delivery of printed e-newsletters to all retail locations and shipping warehouse
• Promote major email campaign items to retail staff, make available for tasting and solicit staff reviews (where appropriate)
Qualifications
• Proficient in HTML/CSS/Photoshop – must be able to take electronic campaigns all the way to “final proof” status, including graphical layout
• Demonstrated ability to write interesting, effective, shareable website and email copy
• Experience using analytics software – able to demonstrate understanding of common marketing metrics, KPI, and how they influence marketing goals
• At least 1 year of experience with bulk email marketing software
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills –this person will be communicating daily with several passionate K&L category buyers
• Able to work confidently under pressure – this person will be coordinating with several different buyers competing for a limited number of emails and store displays
This is an exempt level position and may be based out of either our Redwood City or San Francisco retail locations. Or both!
