Our team is successful at wine sales, Wine Club acquisitions and building lasting relationships yet embraces multiple tasting experiences.
This is a stellar facility to work in as our newly opened and magnificent Cave is sure to become the delight of Sonoma! To thrive in our environment, our sales team must be versatile in their approach, willing and able to adapt to different levels of experience and consumer knowledge, wine consumers or novice.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism proving guests with an outstanding experience and exceeding expectations.
2. Demonstrate enthusiasm for Petroni Vineyards and its wine and events.
3. Promotes the sale of Petroni Vineyards wine club memberships and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Cave.
4. Prepare Tasting Cave for daily opening and closing. Responsible for clean-up of Tasting Cave and preparation of Cave for incidental wine tastings and tours. Restock shelves and maintain displays as needed.
5. Be a team player, working with other wine educators to reach monthly and daily sales goals - please check your ego at the door.
6. Excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate with groups of different sizes and levels of wine knowledge.
7. Collect guest data and preferences.
8. Follow direction and procedures. Ability to multi-task and able to walk several miles each day.
9. Create a clean and accident-free environment in all areas including the Tasting Cave, restrooms, and walkways and kitchen. Involves clean-up through-out the day, particularly following visits and tours.
10. Assist guests with their wine and retail purchasing decisions.
11. Represent winery at outside functions as needed mindful to build brand awareness and consumer loyalty and positively reflect the brand image at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in restaurants, luxury retail or hospitality, working directly with customers.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with grace and enthusiasm.
- Able to communicate effectively with diverse guests in a friendly and informed manner.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be able to manage POS systems and manage complex wine and merchandise transactions with a high level of integrity and confidentiality
Hourly DOE: Competitive, Wine Club commission and tips as earned
