Estate Events Lead (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

The successful candidate will have a passion for Events; Corporate, Social & Wine Club, but can cross over to host retail sales in the off season. We are looking to build a team which is professional, articulate, friendly and wired for service. A team which enjoys anticipating and responding to even the unexpressed wishes and needs of our guests.  A team which naturally brand champion’s Petroni Vineyards and who is committed to providing the finest personal service and maintaining our facilities in order to create a warm, relaxed, yet refined ambiance.  Our team is successful at wine sales, Wine Club acquisitions and building lasting relationships yet embraces multiple tasting experiences and planning unique events.

 

This is a stellar facility to work in as our newly opened and magnificent Cave is sure to become the delight of Sonoma! To thrive in our environment, this candidate must be versatile his or her approach to work, willing and able to adapt to different levels of consumer experience and  knowledge whether they are with large or small groups, wine consumers or the novice.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demonstrate enthusiasm for Petroni Vineyards and its wine and events.
2. Responsible for Event Pre-planning and logistics, creating the internal Event Order for execution, from the contract provided from the Estate Director.
3. Responsible to ensure events are within food and labor budgets and delivering a successful P&L for every event utilizing template provided.
4. Collaborates with the Catering Chef to develop menus to drive the guest experience along with revenue goals and interacts effectively with guests/clients, sales and kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations and other winery departments in order to monitor guest satisfaction.

5. Develop and plan layouts, functions and event flows and facility layout to meet the need of each unique guest. Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction before, during and after their event.

 6. Responsible for receiving and inputting group deposits as well as reconciling event billing
7. Excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate with groups of different sizes and levels of wine knowledge.
8. Be a team player, working with other wine educators to reach monthly and daily sales goals - please check your ego at the door.
9. Create a clean and accident-free environment in all areas including the Tasting Cave, restrooms, walkways and kitchen. Involves clean-up through-out the day, particularly following visits and tours.

10. Assist guests with their wine and retail purchasing decisions.

11. Respond to guest inquiries and special requests and resolve issues and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner, monitors the resolution process, creates mechanisms to channel issues to Estate Director.

Hourly DOE: As well as Commission and Gratuity as earned
