Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Adobe Road Winery is seeking a Tasting Room Rock Star to join our team in our downtown Petaluma tasting room and corporate offices.

As a sister company to The Racers Group (TRG) you will be aligned with the world of high-end professional motorsports and a winning history and heritage. TRG is the top privateer professional sportscar race team in North American history 

Adobe Road Winery has emerged as one of the premier boutique producers in Northern California and just received thirteen 90+ point scores in the last 12 months as well as participating in all the major Wine Spectator events around the country. Poised to establish a major presence in downtown Petaluma, you will be working in the interim tasting room that is two blocks from the location of an epic new winery, visitor center, VIP lounge and event center. The location is the last un-redeveloped spot on the Petaluma waterfront, right next door to the Petaluma Yacht club and right in the middle of the vibrant downtown community.

Our Tasting Room Associates are key brand ambassadors for our winery. This is a fun and fast-paced position for the right individual. The ideal candidate will be adept at conveying the importance and uniqueness of our winery while creating, advocating and cultivating lasting relationships with our guests. Candidates should be passionate about wine and demonstrate world-class customer service skills.

In addition to working in the tasting room, you will also have some responsibilities, part-time, in our corporate office assisting with winery related data entry, inventory ordering and processing, assisting in customer service, maintaining inventory, packaging and preparing for wine club and other shipments.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing (to include but not limited to…):
•  Giving stellar first, second, and third, etc impressions to all our members and guests as they join us for an unrivaled tasting experiences
•  Closing sales and signing-up new Inside Track members like a seasoned ninja without the guests even thinking they are being sold to. Educating our guests so they leave as ambassadors of Adobe Road Winery
•  Keeping busy by going above and beyond the call of duty to help all guests’ needs as well as helping teammates achieve their potential
•  Act as a cheerleader for your fellow teammates when goals are achieved and exceeded
•  Keeping lines of communication open and speedy between yourself, team members, and management 
•  Understand and love technology; proficient with Vin65 (Winedirect), Google Suite, etc
•  Opening and closing the tasting room, participating in inventory, stocking wine and merchandise, processing orders
•  Not unraveling under the pressures of delivering world class hospitality in a busy tasting room, hosting events, and participating in winery projects

•  Occasionally represent the brand in the market at events such as at wine festivals, off-site tastings or winemaker dinners

•  Assist in corporate office as needed to support staff, customer service duties and preparation/packaging for various shipments

Performance Measures

— Achievement of retail goals, including sales, wine club sign-ups and data collection

— Accuracy of inventory management and other operational duties

— Conversion of guests to wine club members

— Ability to follow directions and multi-task when needed in fast-paced environment



Professional Qualifications

•  3+ years of retail, hospitality or customer service experience with at least 1 year of winery tasting room or wine retail experience

This is a hybrid position with competitive hourly compensation plus commission. DOE 

We are willing to pay STRONG for this position for the right person… far above industry-standard.
