The Equipment & Shop supervisor position supervises and coordinates all equipment, tools & vehicles including, but not limited to, service, maintenance, repairs, modifications, training, inventory, diagnosing and recordkeeping in use at this 550 acre Agriculture Ranch in Petaluma. 

 

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for fixing, diagnosing, repairing and maintenance of all ranch equipment & vehicles.

  • Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as a compression gauge, hydraulic test gauges, electrical diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic device.

  • Oversees and coordinates all equipment usage with multiple crew supervisors.

  • Oversees and coordinates all harvest equipment usage.

  • Responsible for conditions of shop and service area.

  • Responsible for keeping all maintenance records on all ranch equipment.

  • Responsible for keeping all equipment usage logs up to date.

  • Trains and supervises shop assistant mechanic on repairs and maintenance of all farm equipment.

  • Responsible for adherence to State & Federal regulations related to vehicle use.

Qualifications

§  High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

§  Training in vocational school

§  Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

§  Experience training and development of apprentices

§  Ability to apply practical application of engineering science and technology.  This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment.

§  High level of Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

§  Detailed oriented and skill in organizing projects and time

§  Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task

§  Commitment to excellence and high standards

§  Strong written and verbal communication skills

§  Ability to work with all levels of management

§  Ability to multi-task and be flexible
