GENERAL
• Work location: 3700 Mill Road, Paso Robles, CA
• Full-time, exempt position
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings for special events as required
• The Tasting Room Manager reports to the Hospitality Center Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. OPERATIONS
• Overseeing and completing opening/closing procedures for the Hospitality Center
• Maintaining current marketing materials, tasting lists, and signage
• Ordering of Hospitality Center supplies including packaging, wine inventory and merchandise
• Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times
• Performing weekly physical inventory with the Wine Club Manager and updating POS
• Implementing effective inventory control procedures
• Communicating daily with tasting room staff any upcoming events, specials, changes to tasting list, etc.
2. CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES
• Conducting of wine tastings and vineyard tours for VIP guests
• Ensuring staff members are providing excellent customer service to all Vina Robles visitors
• Resolving guest concerns and complaints by using good judgment and professionalism
• Representing the company in a positive manner and protecting Vina Robles property at all time
• In cooperation with the Wine Club Manager and Hospitality Center Hosts, recruiting and retaining Wine Club members
• Conveying Wine Club membership concepts and benefits to customers
• Working with the Hospitality Center Manager to set wine specials and other wine promotions
• Setting and posting daily sales goals for the team
• Providing daily coaching to Hosts to improve customer service and sales
• Delivering business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with neighboring wineries, hotels, and transportation companies
3. MANAGEMENT
• Supervising Assistant Tasting Room Manager and Hospitality Center Hosts
• Prioritize and assigning duties on a daily basis
• Monitoring schedule and breaks together with the Assistant Tasting Room Manager
• Organizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasting room calendar of group reservations, trade tastings, and gourmet lunches with the Concierge
• Preparing and managing monthly staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage of Hospitality Center duties at all times
• Communicating to the Hospitality Center Manager any issues or concerns involving Hospitality Center staff or guests
4. EVENTS
• Participate in onsite and offsite events as needed
• Ensure all team members are aware of upcoming events and supporting Events Coordinator with event sales
• Refer event inquiries to the Event Coordinator or Hospitality Center Manager
Requirements:
• 21 years or older
• 3+ years related winery, hospitality, management experience
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Office Outlook, knowledge of Vin65 a plus
• Detail oriented, multi-tasker who is self-motivated
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Advanced knowledge of wine
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods
• Able to lift 45 pounds on a regular basis
