Property & Facilities Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Job Description:

The Property & Facilities Manager is directly responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the winery/office buildings, equipment and general property areas. This includes management and oversight of maintenance and repairs to all equipment including; hot water heaters, boilers, chillers, tractors, ATV/UTV, various winemaking equipment and more. The Property & Facilities Manager will work in a hands-on fashion to conduct needed repairs and also assist in the management of larger construction and various improvement projects. We are looking for an individual who is interested in continuing to develop a successful department within a growing company. The Property & Facilities Manager has the responsibility to maintain and improve department performance, through successful management and development of employees, demonstration and teaching of technical and problem solving skills, ability to forecast future needs, and desire to work in a prioritized and purposeful manner. The Property & Facilities Manager will work alongside a small team to accomplish these tasks. The Property & Facilities Manager will also work alongside a third party landscape supervisor. Together, they have the responsibility of making the facility a beautiful, functional, and safe environment. The Property & Facilities Manager will report to the Operations Logistic Manager.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain building systems and equipment including HVAC units, glycol chillers, hot water heaters, refrigeration units/coolers, utilizing a project management system to ensure completed schedule of work.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of fences/gates/roads.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of waste water treatment systems and septic systems.
  • Manage personnel and processes related to facility maintenance to keep all equipment on schedule and in optimal working order. Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • Perform hands-on repair work in a prioritized and timely manner including, but not limited to, chiller, HVAC, small engine, plumbing and dry wall repairs, painting, and parts replacement. 
  • Work in partnership with the Landscape Supervisor to create a safe and pleasing environment and assist all departments with special projects when necessary. 
  • Maintain the high standards of the DAOU Vineyards Customer Experience as it relates to building cleanliness, maintenance, functionality, and safety. 
  • Manage department projects to completion, ensuring that desired results are achieved. 
  • Manage and Supervise all vendor work related to facility services, ensuring quality and on-time completion of services within budget. 
  • Manage vendors in a way that advocates for DAOU Vineyards. 
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology in all areas of job. Keep abreast of changing technology on HVAC systems, mechanical controls, fire safety and security systems, etc. 
  • Maintain all required records, paperwork, and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical, electrical and all other municipal and state codes. 
  • Additional duties, as assigned by Management. 

  Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a facilities environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing staff. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
  • HVAC Certification highly desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and all other municipal and state codes. 
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to be insured on company vehicles.
  • Due to the nature of our business, must be at least 21 years of age.

This is a full time, position with benefits.

Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday with occasional night and weekend work. Candidates must be willing to be on call for emergencies.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: This is a physical job in a winery/production setting that will require long periods of standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders, operating heavy machinery and the ability to observe others and the work environment.

 

Salary: Hourly, DOE.
