Position Description:
Your primary duties will be to assist our Private Cellar Acquisitions Manager and other Wine Buyers inventory, inspect, value and merchandise fine and rare wines for purchase and for consignment in weekly auctions.
There may be occasional travel to private cellars in the SF Bay Area to inventory and inspect purchases. You will also be asked to complete some basic administrative (phones, e-mail, filing) tasks and to provide basic customer service.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of all aspects of the online wine retail business, with particular emphasis on the fine and rare wine market. You will learn how buying decisions are made, how to value fine and rare wines, etc.
Requirements:
• Some wine knowledge
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly (wine cases).
• Typing minimum 30 WPM.
• College degree preferred, but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and various web browsers
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with NetSuite a plus
Details:
Full time; Monday – Friday. $15-20/ hour DOE. Health, vision and dental provided in addition to pay.
