Chauffeur Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Our client is currently seeking an experienced customer service driven Chauffeur Manager to oversee operations of their chauffeur staff.  Since 1991, our client has managed one of the largest chauffeured fleets in California, servicing Sonoma, Napa and San Francisco counties.  As the premier industry leader in the North Bay, they are dedicated to providing prompt, courteous and world class service.

The ideal candidate will have a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, demonstrated competency in hiring, developing and evaluating employees, and the ability to apply solid judgment and decision making ability.  They will be good spirited, professional, courteous, and have a can do attitude.  Candidates will have management experience, high ethical standards, demonstrated professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service.  Industry experience is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interview applicants, hire and coordinate training of all new chauffeurs in compliance with Company standards
  • Ensure proper ‘on boarding’ process and paperwork is completed
  • Ensure all chauffeurs are compliant with CPUC, USDOT, CVC and EDD regulations
  • Ensure compliance with drug and alcohol program
  • Attend periodic meetings and seminars to ensure chauffeurs are compliant with policies, state and federal laws (SFO and other airports, CPUC, DOT, Industry specific), as needed
  • Design, document, arrange and execute monthly and quarterly trainings
  • Facilitate log book training and maintenance, when required
  • Coordinate training efforts with Safety Compliance Coordinator
  • Prepare and post important memos for chauffeurs to ensure all department communications are consistent
  • Attend weekly management meetings to discuss and review department progress
  • Communicate company goals and liaise with other departments to ensure proper knowledge chauffeur expectations and resolve chauffeur issues
  • Review, discuss and resolve all chauffeur related Incident Reports, and ensure that they are properly closed within 24 hours
  • Assist Dispatch Manager with Group Event Chauffeur Assignments
  • Perform, discuss and review Chauffeur evaluations, and submit to COO for review
  • Ensure all Chauffeurs are fully trained to handle every type of engagement, per company standards
  • Support Chauffeurs with client relations, service and training
  • Ensure department is properly staffed at all times with licensed and endorsed chauffeurs
  • Liaise with Dispatch Manager and maintain Chauffeur schedule to ensure proper staffing levels
  • Perform routine on-road chauffeur inspections to ensure proper evaluation standards
  • Schedule Lead Chauffeurs for on-road evaluations
  • Assist with on-site transportation inspections as per company policy
  • Train on-site Group Transportation Coordinators and assist with large events as needed

 Education and/or Experience

 

  • BA/BS degree in a related area and/or equivalent (preferred)
  • 5 years experience in same or similar industry (preferred)

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Chauffeur Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
