Report to Vice President & Director of Beverage Sales-Dave Gusmer
Manage the daily operations of the Napa facility engaged in selling products to the beverage industry which includes wineries, breweries, distilleries, and juice processors. Promote Gusmer’s products and lab services to the surrounding areas. Provide knowledgeable winemaking advice through the proficient understanding of Gusmer products. Manage inventory levels and purchase items unique to facility. Engage in outside sales activities for assigned customers.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities at the Napa facility including customer service, inside sales, shipping/receiving, warehousing, inventory management, safety, employee engagement and adherences to company policies.
- Become and remain proficient in Gusmer Enterprise product lines and customer processes
- Identify and develop new customers and sales opportunities in surrounding areas
- Develop and implement strategies to promote Napa’s lab services
- Participate in outside sales activities for prescribed customers
- Backup customer service and shipping/receiving activities when needed.
- Assist and participate with other sales, marketing, and administration efforts as requested.
Qualifications/Experience/Requirements/Skills:
- BS/MS in fermentation/food science or suitable experience, with an understanding of basic chemistry/microbiology
- 5+ years’ experience in winemaking
- 5+ years management experience
- Strong commercial and business development sense
- Extensive beverage processing knowledge (beer, wine, distilling, juice)
· Good communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills
· Team player, strong people skills, self-motivated and ability to work without direct supervision
- Computer proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and other basic business programs
