This position will be responsible for the full cycle of A/P and A/R. In addition; the accountant will assist the Accounting Manager with month end closing duties. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize successfully while working in G/L Accounting. Excellent communication skills are a must for successful internal and external relationships!

In brief, an ideal candidate will posses the following:

•Degree (AA or BA/BS) in Accounting or related field

• 3-5+ years experience in similar function

•Prior supervisory experience desired

•Experience with Great Plains, or other an enterprise software system, and advanced Excel skills 

•Comes from a Wine, Beverage or Food manufacturing related industry a plus

•Ability to work in downtown Napa

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS: 

Accounts Payable:

• Supervise and gives support to accounts payable clerk.

• Reviews Accounts Payable Invoices for Posting.

• Account Administrator for Concur, American Express, and VinAsset

• Interpret and explain organization’s internal financial controls, policies and procedures.

• Evaluates early payment savings opportunities.

• Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expenses vouchers.

• Resolve common and complex AP errors or problems.

• Provide reporting to management as required.

• Prepare and review monthly A/P reconciliation.

• Send out credit applications as required.

• Responsible for yearly 1099 reporting.

• Provide reporting to management as required.

Accounts Receivable:

• Data entry of trade A/R cash receipts in GP

• Prepare monthly journal entry for cash receipts, credit memos and debit memo for A/R Trade

• Monitor A/R aging

• Reconcile AR sub-ledger to G/L on a monthly basis

• Prepare manual invoices for wine transfer

• Follow up with customers on past due invoices

Additional duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide analysis, assist in monthly closing activities and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education and Experience: A two year Associates degree in Business or Accounting, plus at least 3-5 years of experience. Preferably vineyard or winery experience.

• Above average knowledge of spreadsheets and word-processing (Microsoft environment) and ability to work in G/L Accounting (Great Plains).

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
