JOB DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management to develop goals and strategy to increase efficiencies and reduce liability. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment and employment law compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Management of Workers Compensation Claims.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, seasonal and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program and writes and places advertisements.
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of direct HR experience.
- Experience in the Wine Industry or Vineyard Mgmt. is a plus, but not essential.
- Familiarity with all ADP functionality.
- Strong leadership and management development skills.
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
- Must possess strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Project & Time Management capacity.
- Self-starter, independent worker, problem solver, and ability to make deadlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Works at Regusci Winery in Napa, California.
- May be required to work nights and/or weekends on occasion.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (case of wine).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Benefits package available after 90 days.
