Position Summary:
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing information and insights that drive key business decisions, helping to drive profitable growth and goal achievement. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will facilitate the annual budget planning process, working to help create and disseminate annual budgets by time period and geography. This position collaborates closely with all aspects of the organization, including Marketing and Sales, and requires excellent communication skills and a good commercial understanding of business issues.
Critical Tasks:
Analysis and Recommendations 60%
• Assist with monthly financial performance analysis and quarterly reviews
• Inventory management & allocations analysis
• Marketing program post program analysis
• Price change impacts and forecasts analysis
• Production cost analysis, including developing standard costs for new products
• Assist with various report development and insight
• Ad hoc analytical projects (workflow, ROI, etc.) among Finance, Marketing and Sales
• Expense Analysis: Samples, Sales Promo, and T&E
Planning, forecasting, and goal setting 40%
• Manage the development of the annual budget plan (expense budgeting and wholesale shipments)
• Manage the development of the 3 year business plan at mid-year with Marketing
• Manage the development of the year-end forecast in the Fall with Finance and Marketing
• Follow up calls/emails.
Professional Requirements:
• University degree or college diploma in finance, business, marketing, or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in a financial, accounting or business analysis role, preferably in the wine industry
• Strong knowledge of the business cycle in wine, including marketing and sales business processes
• Strong project management, business writing, and communication skills
• Solid business acumen and analytical skills
• Strong computer skills, high-level Excel, business intelligence and reporting software
• Effective time management, organizational and communication skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
