DFV Wines has immediate career opportunities for two Finance Managers.  One will reside in our Napa Executive office supporting West Coast sales, and the other will support East Coast sales, ideally residing in eastern Massachusetts, southeast New York or southern Florida.

Position Summary:  Reporting to the VP Finance – National and working closely with the Sales Territory VP and Division Managers, the Finance Manager - Sales will lead financial engagement of National Sales Territories (East or West), helping to drive sustainable, profitable growth and attainment of financial goals.  Key areas of responsibility will include financial reporting and analysis, identification and management of risks and opportunities, planning and forecasting, pricing and promotional activities, and maintenance of appropriate financial controls and expense recognition.  In addition, the Finance Manager - Sales will assist Sales leaders in the Territory with many aspects of distributor management, including pricing, distributor margins, promotional activities and funds.

Duties/Essential Job Functions:
• Partners with sales regions to identify business issues, risks and opportunities, and to help ensure attainment of  financial goals and drive sustainable growth.
• Manages annual planning and periodic forecasting process, including shipment volumes, pricing, revenue, promotional spending and departmental budgets.
• Faciliates financial reporting and analysis of trends and variances.  Investigates and resolves issues and variances.
• Manages monthly accrual process and analyzes accrued versus actual expense trends.  Identifies and resolves issues as necessary.  Helps ensure timely and accurate monthly close.
• Reviews and approves pricing proposals based on company pricing standards and promotional initiatives.
• Assists Sales Territory VP and Division Managers with distributor meetings and negotiations.
• Keeps current on products and market offers; drives innovations and changes to improve systems and processes.
• Analyzes expenses and sales to determine return on investment of incentive and promotional sales programs.
• Analyzes the spending in depletion allowances, free goods, and scanner discount accounts, helps ensure proper accruals are in place.
• Plays leading role in the development and ongoing management of financial systems & processes.
• Attends relevant Sales & Marketing meetings.
• Travels to markets as necessary.
• Acts as an available intellectual resource and thought partner for sales managers.

• Recognizes and addresses performance strengths and limitations of subordinates.
• Manages employee attendance to ensure compliance with Company standards; approve/monitor overtime.
• Communicates and supports Company policies and decisions in a positive manner.
• Develops staffing needs, selects new employees, makes recommendations in job evaluation and compensation, recommends termination actions.
• Conducts team meetings with department employees; includes monthly safety topic.
• Handles employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner.
• Provides employees with a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment.
• Prepares and monitors department budget.

Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required.  MBA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience in finance, pricing and/or sales and marketing analysis.  Familiarity with wine and/or spirits industry three tier distribution system is a plus. Expert computer skills are required; strength in Excel, OLAP, multi-dimensional tables, with ability to report and graph complex information.

Knowledge: Excellent communication skills. Strong commercial understanding of business issues.  Analytical skills and proven problem-solving ability.  Aptitude for software programs and computer systems, including financial systems and data management.
