Estate Host (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Hyde Vineyard Estate is a family-owned and -operated luxury winery. We are located in Los Carneros, Napa Valley, and are known for our historic vineyard sites and our premium Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Merlot wines. The Direct-to-Consumer team is in search of a dynamic and energetic hospitality and sales professional to join our highly motivated family team to provide a memorable experience for our guests. This is a full-time, on-site position geared towards individuals with excellent sales, hospitality, and communication skills specializing in wine knowledge, and who will take ownership of delivering positive customer interactions while maintaining our brand image standards that will maximize sales. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Graciously host guests providing a warm welcome, sharing the family story and vineyard history compellingly, and conducting an informative and engaging tasting experience. Translate a memorable experience into wine sales and club membership enrollments
•  Inform guests of membership and benefits and recruit new members to our Wine Club
•  Accurately process sales, shipping details, client contact information, and client notes in POS. Knowledge of WineDirect is a plus!
•  Maintain relationships with upscale Napa and Sonoma Valley lodging partners, private drivers, and peer winery personnel to increase guest traffic and sales
•  Assist during winery events and wine club runs
•  Perform and assist in all daily hospitality and tasting room duties including appointment calendar management, answering phones, noting and addressing guest issues, and performing set-up/clean-up
•  Perform routine purchasing transactions with honesty, utmost professionalism, and attention to detail
•  Be responsive and timely in solving customer issues and complaints (in person, on the phone, and via email)
•  Demonstrate a high level of professionalism
•  Closing duties including daily inventory counting, reconciliation, and restocking

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

•  Experience providing premium wine hospitality, luxury retail, or high-end restaurant service of 1 to 2 years
•  A passion for wine! Strong wine knowledge is preferred, but not required
•  Polished hospitality skills and excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
•  Possess excellent communication and customer service skills
•  Able to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize responsibilities
•  Team player with a professional attitude and positive disposition
•  Must be hands-on and willing to work in a small company environment
•  Willingness to “wear multiple hats”
•  Professional appearance and enthusiastic personality
•  Ability to work weekends and some holidays
•  Must be 21 years of age
•  Must be able to lift 40 pounds
•  This is an active position that may require standing for hours at a time
