Lavender Ridge Vineyard is a family owned and operated winery and estate vineyard in the beautiful sierra foothills of California. We operate a fully functioning winery, that supports two (2) satellite tasting rooms; located in Murphy’s and Vallecito, CA. Lavender Ridge Vineyard specializes in pairing Rhone style wines with artisanal cheeses from around the world, in an addition to offering an extensive line of boutique Lavender products. Coppermine Winery specializes in pairing Bordeaux style wines with hand crafted chocolates.
We are seeking an outgoing, motivated team player with a strong customer service and wine sales background to work with our very talented staff at our two (2) tasting rooms.
The Tasting Room Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a meaningful wine tasting experience to all of our guests. In addition to retail/customer service responsibilities, there are also opportunities to participate in non-wine merchandising and marketing, within our cheese and Lavender product lines. The ideal candidate will have a passion for increasing their wine knowledgeable, a team player who is self-motivated with a positive personality, good attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Ensure that visitors have an exceptional wine tasting/pairing experience.
Effectively promote and sell wines and wine clubs, and wine related merchandise.
Conduct private tastings.
Participate and assist with special hospitality events.
Participate in the receiving of, processing, inventory management of cheese, Lavender, and non-wine products.
Able to work Thursday through Sunday, holidays, and when needed for special events.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Prior sales and customer service-related experience.
General knowledge of fine wines, and how to articulately describe them.
Experience in high-end wine sales highly desirable.
Professional appearance and conduct.
General understanding of winemaking and viticulture practices.
Experience with POS systems, and possess intuitive computer skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be hungry, humble, and smart!
Must be at least 21 years of age.
COMPENSATION: Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus sales incentives
