Delicato Family Vineyards is looking for detail-oriented, independent and hardworking individuals to work this harvest as a Grape Sampler under general direction of the Grower Relations Manager.
This is an excellent entry-level learning opportunity for someone interested in viticulture, enology, winemaking or any other wine related position. The position is based in Monterey County and the temporary assignment will last from early July through early to mid-October and will average approximately 40-48 hours per week.

Essential Duties:
Drive up to 150 miles per day
Conduct sampling duties in a timely manner with a high degree of consistency of sampling method
Process samples and conduct brix readings
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Learn and recognize basic vine diseases and pest issues
Communicate daily with Grower Relations Manager on vineyard status
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED. Experience driving motorized vehicles and familiarity of farm related activities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Follow written and verbal instructions
Organize, read, write, and communicate effectively with Sampling Team
Read maps, understand compass directions, use handheld GPS device and be able to apply general logistical practices of route planning and navigating directions on unmarked roads
Operate a motor vehicle safely and possess a clean driving record (no points within last three years)
Work independently for long periods of time
Work overtime and weekends in varying environmental conditions
Physical Requirements/Conditions:
Walk for extended periods over unsteady surfaces including up and down hillsides
Uneven terrain in vineyards, driving long distances on highways and off-road
