Job Title:  Safety Representative                              □ Exempt       X Non-Exempt

 

Department:  Human Resources                               Division:  Safety

 

 

Job Summary:

Maintain all safety records to assure compliance, facilitates training, updates and maintains training records, coordinates with staff to identify and order safety supplies, and provides HR administrative support.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Coordinates with other departments and trainers to facilitate all required and annual safety training.
2. May conduct safety or other pertinent training.
3. Orders safety supplies.
4. Tracks and maintains all training records in database to assure compliance.
5. Files all training records.
6. Works closely with Pesticide Control Advisor to facilitate training and monitor safety compliance.
7. Inspects and replenishes first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
8. Maintains injury illness prevention program (IIPP).
9. Works with other departments to develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans.
10. Helps facilitate company events.
11. Provides Human Resources administrative support as needed
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1. Minimum Education required:  Associates Degree in related field
2. Minimum Experience required:  One year experience with Safety and Human Resources practices, including conducting training.  Knowledge of OSHA regulations and California and Federal Labor Laws, preferably Ag industry requirements.
3. Skills Required:  Proficient computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet programs.  Must be bilingual/bi-literate (Spanish/English) and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
