As a Principal of Winestyle and Product Guidance at E.&J. Gallo Winery, you will be responsible for providing expert technical knowledge and experience implementing best practice methodology to support the development of the strategic vision for winestyle and product guidance programs. You will lead the development of complex, cross-functional technical programs to support business strategies and drive integration and alignment of new and existing WS&PG programs across different organizations. Additionally, you will lead winestyle innovation by managing foundational research on consumers, products and new technologies, integrating the learnings across disciplines and applying expertise.
What You Will Do
- You will develop and lead complex, cross-functional technical programs and projects to support business strategies related to new product categories and research
- Maintain end to end oversight from conceptualization to implementation
- Lead innovation by managing foundational research on consumers, products and new technologies; uniquely integrates learnings of new and existing products across disciplines
- Apply product expertise to identify business opportunity and influence business decisions that will enable a competitive advantage in the marketplace
- Serve as the technical and research expert in the Winestyle and Product Guidance space; drives the strategic direction for product space to support new growth opportunities for the company
- Develop systems and processes to monitor activities or outputs and collect feedback
- Actively monitor consumer package goods and other industries for new product ideas and methodologies
- Screen and select new and existing vendors to expand our repertoire of techniques and skills
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Master of Science degree plus 10 years of sensory or marketing research, experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
- Experience conducting research for a consumer packaged goods organization
What Will Set You Apart
- PhD in Food Science with 10 years of Sensory or marketing research experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility in a consumer package goods organization
- Comprehensive knowledge in sensory, consumer research and product development to completion of significant assignments
- Recognized expert understanding of one core product category (wine or spirit), and Business Unit and proficient understanding of a complimentary functional area
