Delicato Family Vineyards has an immediate career opportunity for a Skilled Materials Handler in our Manteca Distribution Center.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for receiving, stocking and pulling goods used in the winemaking process. Recordkeeping must be neat and detailed oriented. Operates lift truck and pallet jack to perform duties. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Must be able to work different shift hours and overtime during harvest.
Duties/Essential Job Functions:
- Follows process orders to pre-pull ingredients and stage for cellar technicians. Records lot numbers.
- Off-load incoming ingredients from delivery trucks. Responsible for accurate count and inspection of goods at time of receiving.
- Assign lot numbers to those ingredients that require them and enter ingredients into the DV system.
- Stock ingredients, rotate older inventory and keep lot numbers separate.
- Responsible for generating the Purchase Request for various filter aids, ingredients, cleaners and sanitizers.
- Lead training of additional labor during harvest months that will assist with pulling ingredient orders.
- Must apply safe forklift driving practices.
- Perform general housekeeping and ensure ingredients stay in proper labeled containers.
- Interfaces with other functional areas such as cellar, purchasing, process control, planning, and winemaking.
- Conduct cycle counts and provide notification when an item reaches re-order point.
- Perform year-end physical inventory.
- Maintains necessary files and documentation.
- Organize empty pallets and call out when enough has been accumulated.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. or half of body weight.
- Performs some job functions while wearing dust mask or half-face respirator.
- Assist the cellar as time permits to perform daily or weekly inspections (tank entry carts, lift truck safety, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, PPE stations, eye wash stations, etc.)
- Train as the back-up to receiving dept. attendant in the off-season.
- General winery clean-up when time allows.
- Occasionally operate cellar dump trucks.
- Fill and diffuse portable SO2 canisters.
Equipment and Materials Utilized:
Type: Propane lift truck, manual pallet jack, dump truck, on-line PC (DV system)
Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma/equivalent. Valid California driver’s license.
Experience: Previous inventory control experience a plus. Computer literate. Material handling with lift truck.
Knowledge: Strong reading, writing, math skills. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
