Position Summary:  Manages, organizes, plans and directs staffing and workflow of the Business Services State Compliance operations. Position provides direction, leadership, and feedback in support of departmental and company goals and acts as company liaison with State regulatory agencies. Ensures processes and procedures for each business process meets regulatory requirements providing direction and assistance in the development of actual workflows where needed. Develops and assists with ongoing training to all business process users.

  • Recognize and address performance strengths and limitations of subordinates.
  • Manage employee attendance to ensure compliance with company standards; approve/monitor overtime.
  • Communicate and support company policies and decisions in a positive manner.
  • Develop staffing needs, select new employees, make recommendations in job evaluation and compensation, recommend termination actions.
  • Conduct team meetings with department employees; includes monthly Safety, ISO and Lean topics.
  • Handle employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner.
  • Provide employees with a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment.
  • Prepare and monitors department budget.

Duties/Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides direction and support to the Business Services State Compliance Operations staff.
  • Serves as the State Compliance Business Relationship Partner working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and IS for State Compliance processes, procedures and workflows, identifying problems and recommending/implementing cost effective solutions.
  • Manages and oversees record keeping processes and workflows for state compliance regulatory requirements as it relates to the maintenance of state licensing, registrations and price postings, identifying problems and recommending/implementing cost effective solutions.
  • Oversee the integrity of State Registration Master data bases within SAP, Ship Compliant and e-Compli for DV and BSEW; develops and monitors systems and methods to ensure accurate data management.
  • Provides initial review and evaluation of legality issues surrounding appointing and terminating distributors.
  • Develops and monitors systems and methods used in areas of responsibility to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of sales operations.
  • Provides for the production and maintenance of various reports, recaps, and summaries of sales and marketing activities using BDN, Diver and other related resources.
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of the job; internal and externally.
  • Monitor and review the development and implementation of Business Service Training Modules and ISO Procedures.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field.

Experience: 3 to 5 years’ management in customer service operations, sales and/or marketing is a must whereas wine industry experience is desirable. - Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Proficient in desktop application (MS preferred). - Strong analytical skills. Works effectively with numbers, spreadsheets and detail. Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation. Effective writer with strong sense of grammar. - Thrives well under pressure and in a fast-paced, changing environment. Excellent leadership skills. Highly professional and pleasant disposition. Able to diffuse tensions under stressful conditions. Strong listener. - Strong organizational skills. Able to prioritize and quickly assess what needs to get done. Effective multi-tasker. - Effective Team Player. Maintains a motivating and positive attitude. - Creative, energetic and self-starter

Knowledge: Ability to read/analyze reports, trade journals, and brand related materials. Capable of writing/creating reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Aptitude in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Proficiency in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
