Concannon is currently looking for an experienced, customer service, wine and food professional to join our management team. The ideal Wine Bar Manager candidate should possess wine bar and/or restaurant experience, should have a super-charged, customer-focused attitude, and a vibrant enthusiasm for wine and food and the wine lifestyle.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Underdog Wine Bar (UWB) and its full- and part-time staff. 

 

•Work with a professionalism that upholds the organization’s objectives and requires the same of staff.

 

•Train and role-model for staff how to deliver outstanding customer service that exceeds expectations to assure positive experiences that build loyal customer relationships.

 

•Responsible for financial management, planning, organizing and direction of wine bar budget.

 

•Make a strategic overview of the UWB and plan ahead to maximize profits, improve customer experiences, achieve sales target and minimize expenses.

 

•Maintain statistical and financial records, analyze sales trends and adjust wine bar operations and marketing strategies accordingly.

 

 

•Address customer service related issues and complaints and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction whenever possible. 

 

•Schedule regular and special UWB events to drive new and established customer traffic to the wine bar. 

 

•Promote and assure that private consumer and corporate group bookings of the UWB run smoothly.

 

•Effectively promote the UWB through the UWB website, Facebook, Yelp, Open Table as well as print media and radio opportunities.

 

 

•When appropriate, cross-promote events within Concannon Hospitality to maximize customer reach.

 

•Assure compliance with health, safety and other statutory regulations. 

 

•Maintain a positive working environment between UWB staff and the kitchen team.

 

•Maintain a high level of relevant Concannon wine and Concannon Vineyard knowledge by remaining familiar with current press information, memos and marketing information provided to you.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

•Minimum of 3 years experience managing a busy wine bar or restaurant.

 

•Minimum of 3 years experience in staff management, team-building and hiring and training wine bar and/or restaurant full-time and part-time staff.

 

•Professional appearance and demeanor when dealing with guests and vendors.

 

•Experience working with fine wine and food in a customer service focused environment – proven customer service skills is a must.

 

•Sound general wine knowledge with a commitment to excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines served in our wine bar and tasting room.

 

•Highly motivated, hospitality- and sales-driven with an outstanding work ethic.

 

•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, motivate and inspire others.  Works well with others at all levels.

 

•Ability to handle difficult situations, give feedback, coach, find creative solutions and take accountability.

 

•Clear and effective verbal communication skills, with good writing skills a plus.

 

•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Must be goal-oriented and results-driven with good attention to detail.

 

•A respectful team player that leads in creating a positive work experience.

 

•Must have excellent computer skills including Excel and Word. A plus to know RMS, Aloha and PowerPoint.

 

•Ability to research; analyze and compile data to support company goals. Financial P&L experience is a plus.

 

•College Diploma.

 

•Commitment to follow all Company procedures and policies.

 

•21 years of age or older with a valid CDL.

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

•        Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing and twisting in the performance of various tasks in a Wine Bar environment

 

•        Must be able to stand for an extended period of time when required.

 

•        Must be able to lift  50 lbs.
