JOB DESCRIPTION:

Founded in 1883, Concannon is a Founding Family of the California wine industry, is “America’s oldest, ongoing winery under the same family label and stewardship, “and is home to the renowned Concannon Cabernet Clones as well as America’s First Petite Sirah.  Because this is a historic winery on a landmark estate, we seek only those who are self-motivated to be a positive and energetic leader in a highly professional, educational, welcoming and fun environment.  Creating a memorable experience that exceeds customers’ expectations is the Concannon standard for providing outstanding customer service.

 

Concannon is currently looking for an experienced, customer service, wine and food professional to join our management team. The ideal Wine Bar Floor Supervisor candidate should possess serving and/or bartending experience, staff management experience, should have a super-charged, customer-focused attitude, and a vibrant enthusiasm for wine and food and the wine lifestyle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in staff management, team-building and training wine bar and/or restaurant part-time staff.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a server or bartender at a busy wine bar and/or restaurant.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor when dealing with guests and vendors.
  • Experience working with fine wine and food in a customer service focused environment – proven customer service skills is a must.
  • Sound general wine knowledge with a commitment to excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines served in our wine bar and tasting room.
  • Highly motivated, hospitality- and sales-driven with an outstanding work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, motivate and inspire others.  Works well with others at all levels and departments.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations, give feedback, coach, find creative solutions and take accountability.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, be goal-oriented, and have good attention to detail.
  • A respectful team player that leads in creating a positive work experience.
  • Knowledge of Aloha and RMS POS systems are a plus.
  • Commitment to follow all Company procedures and policies.
  • 21 years of age or older with a valid CDL.

·        ServSafe Food Handlers and Alcohol Training Certified

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Will be a working on the floor as a server or bartender and acting as a supervisor when management is unavailable.  
  • Work with a professionalism that upholds the organization’s objectives and requires the same of staff.
  • Train and role-model for staff on how to deliver outstanding customer service that exceeds expectations to assure positive experiences that build loyal customer relationships.
  • Address customer service related issues and complaints and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction whenever possible. 

·        When appropriate, promote in-house events at UWB and Concannon to maximize customer reach.

  • Assure compliance with health, safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Maintain a positive working environment between UWB staff and the kitchen team.
  • Maintain a high level of relevant Concannon wine and Concannon Vineyard knowledge by remaining familiar with current press information, memos and marketing information provided to you.
  • California has thousands of wine bars, but only the best offer new and unforgettable experiences. Delighting and surprising our customers with a fantastic experience at our winery is at the center of our attention and must be yours as well.
  • Handles routine purchase transactions, which includes operating a cash register and accounting of daily sales and bank deposits.
  • Supervise all employees while on duty at the wine bar.
  • Responsible for weekly orders for beer, paper goods, bar supplies, etc.
  • Maintain monthly inventory of wines.
  • Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

•        Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing and twisting in the performance of    various tasks in a Wine Bar environment

•        Must be able to stand for an extended period of time when required.

•        Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
