We currently have an opening for a skilled Maintenance/Engineering professional:
The Director, Engineering & Maintenance will oversee engineering and infrastructure needs of the winery, ensuring that assets meet both technical specifications and regulatory compliance standards. This leadership role manages and oversees projects to include the planning, design, reconfiguration, and/or construction of the project. In addition, this individual will obtain quotes, compare bids, and make recommendations to management. The individual will manage through subordinate supervisory/managerial levels to ensure the effective pursuit and completion of projects within budgetary guidelines while upholding high standards of excellence. Participates in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget for the maintenance team and leads a team consisting of journey-level mechanics having welding, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills at multiple sites. Represents the organization in a professional manner with outside entities that include government and industry advocate agencies.
The successful candidate will meet or exceed the following requirements:
a) Bachelor of Science degree paired with extensive management experience
b) General Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree a strong plus
c) Background in a trades related environment (electrical, HVAC, plumbing), a plus
d) Ability to troubleshoot and understanding systems, schematic drawings and measurements
e) Experience mentoring and providing effective leadership to a team is essential
f) Strong verbal and written communication skills
g) Professional level computer skills
V. Physical Demands
a) Ability to lift 50 lbs with ease
b) Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
c) Ability to work in areas of great height
d) Ability to work outdoors under a variety of temperature and weather conditions
