CHLOE Market Specialist (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

CHLOE Market Specialist will be responsible for the development and success of The Wine Group’s CHLOE Wine Collection through a balanced approach of traditional sales activities and consumer focused events. The CHLOE Market specialist will be accountable for leading selling activities as well as organizing and executing wine consumer engagement events.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Ø  Brand focus for the entire CHLOE Wine Collection.

o   Held responsible for annual sales volume, accounts purchasing, and points of distribution within a defined account list.

Ø  Consumer Engagement:

o   Localize Brand Platform.  Collaborate with TWG Marketing Brand Team and Agency to localize national marketing programs, where appropriate.

o   Event Management: Serve as the key point of contact at all CHLOE Wine Collection market specific events.  Responsibilities include (but not limited to) pouring wine samples, educating consumers on the wine brand and inviting and hosting customers at these market specific events.

§  Identify and execute additional premium local event opportunities.

o   Demo & Tasting Management: Own market specific CHLOE Wine Collection demo and tasting plan.  Responsibilities include (but not limited to) identifying accounts, executing events, educating consumers, and recapping results.

§  Identify and execute additional wine sampling opportunities

Ø  Customer Focus:  Lead selling within pre-determined top premium accounts deemed by Region Director of Innovation. Manage market sales activity with local distributor.

Ø  Trade Focus:  Focus local efforts within national and local grocery retailers, key independent off premise accounts, and on premise key accounts.

Ø  Distributor Focus:

o   “Launch Captain” for all new CHLOE Wine line extensions.

o   Sales Lead: CHLOE specific programs IE (sales blitzes, distributor team meetings, general sales meetings)

o   10+ selling ride-a-longs monthly between off and on premise.

o   Create and drive incremental programs to support monthly focus priorities in the market.

o   Track volume, accounts sold and POD actuals vs. goals on a monthly basis. Also, develop programs with the distributor to close any gaps to goal.

Ø  Lead sales execution of the TWG in-store “5 Standards for Success”

o   Distribution: Schematic execution, adherence to all items expected to be in distribution

o   Shelf: Product Rotation/out of code management, shelf adjacencies, etc.

o   Floors: “3 Floors in every store”, scale/impression to consumer

o   Cold Box: New distribution, shelf location, proper adjacencies

o   Cross Merchandising: In/Out of department execution, product

Ø  Manage budgets in the following categories:  Travel & Entertainment expenses and other departmental expenses

Ø  Administrative Responsibilities:

o   Complete & review monthly Scorecard reports (depletion & distribution) with RDI

o   Assist with monthly CHLOE sales Forecast

o   Re-Cap and follow up from weekly ride-a-long’s

o   Run monthly applicable TWG sales reports

o   Process Sample Requests

o   Complete expense reports with any relevant Travel and Entertainment expenses on a weekly basis

Ø  Average Monthly Time Management projections (based on 20 sales days/month):

o   40% Selling, 40% Consumer Engagement, 20% Administrative

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Ø  Ability to travel frequently between home office, client sites, and industry meeting/events

Ø  Ability lift 40 pounds.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Ø  5 or more years of experience in the alcoholic beverage industry and sales experience or related business with a knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium wines

Ø  BA degree or equivalent experience required

Ø  Experience managing direct to consumer events preferred

Ø  Intermediate wine knowledge or associated certifications preferred

Ø  Must be well organized with an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be flexible to changes in the wine industry

Ø  Intermediate Microsoft Office user – capable of building presentations, sell sheets and correspondence

Ø  Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ø  Must have valid state driver’s license & reliable transportation

Ø  Willing to travel and with overnight stays as needed

Ø  Ability to work and succeed in dynamic entrepreneurial environment

Ø  High School Diploma or equivalent
