Prestigious Sonoma County Winery is looking for an experienced Tasting Room Manager to join their award winning team!

Responsibilities

·         Managing daily operations of the tasting rooms.

·         Staff Management – coordinate shift scheduling to ensure adequate coverage at both tasting bars at all times; hire and train new staff members; provide feedback and ongoing training to all staff.

·         Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history, answer visitor’s questions about wines providing an informative and friendly experience for guests.

·         Management of inventory including monthly wine inventory and annual non-wine inventory.

·         Perform or supervise the ordering of wine inventory and supplies as needed.

·         Oversee all tasting room shipping and receiving.

·         Manage tasting rooms floor operations which include but are not limited to opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, reconciling poured wines, counting and balancing registers, ensuring daily receipts are properly secured in the safe and maintaining accurate pricing in POS system.

·         Oversee structure and pricing of tasting room menus, updating vintage and price changes immediately and making sure updated menus are available at both bars.  Oversee communication of vintage and price changes to other departments immediately.

·         Prepare shipping documentation, when applicable, and ensure that wine is shipped to reciprocal states only and that correct shipping procedures are followed by all staff.

·         Effectively ask for and close sales and wine club memberships while creating a positive visitor experience.

·         Communicate and work closely with all departments, especially Hospitality and Wine Club.

·         Provide support to Hospitality department for special event staffing, decorating and other duties as needed.

·         Maintain appearance and presentation of the tasting rooms at all times including re-stocking merchandise daily and overseeing effective and appealing displays promoting our wines and merchandise.

·         Meet with vendors and attend trade shows as needed to purchase merchandise and clothing appropriate for the tasting room

 

Qualifications

·         Minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in Tasting Room Management or hospitality management.

·         Two to five years of wine sales and hospitality experience preferred.

·         Excellent communication (verbal and written) and public speaking skills required.

·         PC skills (Word, Excel) required and experience with AMS very desirable.
