Imagery Estate Winery in Glen Ellen is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our harvest team.
We process about 2800 tons for our sister winery, Benziger, and focus on Certified Sustainable Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot. We are a team of well organized, positive, hard working folks who focus on keeping quality at the highest level while being efficient in the process and thorough in our winemaking.
Lab Technician:
Candidate must be flexible to work overtime and up to 6 days a week. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Wine/must/juice sampling, wine/must/juice chemical analysis, record keeping, weigh master, monitoring of fermentations in tanks, yeasting, nutrient additions, and contributing to a clean and safe work environment. Data entry and spreadsheet management are a part of this job, so great computer skills are required.
College level Chemistry or Biology needed. Previous winery experience desired but we will consider training the right person. Candidates must have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions, lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, pull, push and stand for long periods of time. Candidate must have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Position starts mid August and could last through November, possibly longer.
Entry Level Cellar:
Previous experience is preferred but will train the right person. The work is typical cellar work with pumpovers, pressing, crushing, digging out fermentors, barrel work, shipping, racking and cleaning. Must be able to follow instructions, a self starter and work well in a team environment.
Experienced Cellar/Forklift Driver:
Previous cellar and forklift experience is required. The work is varied and includes grape receiving, pressing, dig outs, pumpovers, shipping, racking, barrel work, forklift (experience driving barrels a plus) and cleaning. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English and enjoy working in a team environment.
For both Cellar positions:
We require long hours (with overtime) and availability to work 6 days a week. Must be flexible to work any day of the week and any shift. The job is physically demanding and involves lifting 50lbs, pulling, pushing, digging, climbing ladders or stairs, standing for long periods, and working outside in all weather conditions. Depending on the season, the positions will start in Aug/ September and could last thru November. Usually by the end of the day your covered with grape juice – not very glamorous, but a lot of fun and teamwork with fellow “cellar rats”.
For all positions: salary is paid per hour and is dependent on experience.
