Established in 1981, The Wine Group (TWG) is a privately-held, management-owned company with a portfolio of leading brands, including Cupcake, Concannon, Benziger, Imagery, Chloe, Franzia, and many other brands.
Imagery Estate Winery in Glen Ellen is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our harvest team. Our ideal candidate would have previous experience but we can train the right person.
We process about 2800 tons for our sister winery, Benziger, and focus on Certified Sustainable Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot. We are a team of well organized, positive, hard-working folks who focus on keeping quality at the highest level while being efficient in the process and thorough in our winemaking.
We require long hours (with overtime) and availability to work 6 days a week. Must be flexible to work any day of the week and any shift. Depending on the season, the positions usually starts in August and last until mid-November.
Salary dependent upon experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain proper sanitation of all tanks, equipment, and crush pad
* Barrel work that includes prepping, barrel downs, topping, racking, blending
* Receiving fruit, white processing and pressing, red processing and dig outs, shipping juice, pump overs, yeasting, and nutrient additions
* Follows all standard operating procedures of cellar activities to ensure maximum safety, efficiency, and wine quality is achieved
* Respects and adheres to all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
* Desire to learn and understand winemaking practices as it relates to cellar operations
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
* Ability to listen, take direction, and multi-task
* Team player with great attitude and work ethic
* Forklift experience a plus
Physical Demands:
The job is physically demanding and involves lifting 50lbs, pulling, pushing, digging, climbing ladders or stairs, standing for long periods, and working outside in all weather conditions.
