SUMMARY: The Assistant Winemaker supports the Winemakers in all aspects of winemaking and inventory management and assumes responsibility for specific projects as needed.
We are willing to consider a one year assignment for international candidates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prevents/identifies/treats problem wines.
Prepares and adheres to customer specifications and pro formas.
Provides samples, analysis, inventory data and other information as needed.
Manages barrel work.
Participates in tastings.
Maintains finished wine inventory.
Maintain updated volumes in bulk wine inventory.
Writes work orders.
Researches and recommends winemaking/processing aids and equipment.
Prepares wines for bottling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or certificate in Enology.
Demonstrated interest in winemaking, fermentation science or food processing.
Previous experience working in beverage or food processing industries helpful but not necessary.
Ability to work independently and communicate well.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Must pass background check and drug screen.
