Pahlmeyer, a family owned winery in Napa Valley, is looking for passionate and dedicated Cellar Intern and Harvest Enologist to assist with the 2017 Harvest.
Pahlmeyer is globally acclaimed for crafting iconic wines from impeccable fruit, grown on our Estate Vineyard, and from neighbors throughout the Napa Valley. The winemaking team is committed to the highest winemaking standards, to produce world-class wines.
Pahlmeyer Cellar Interns provide hands-on support to our full time cellar. Principal among Intern responsibilities will be: sampling, sorting, pump-overs, punch-downs, barrel work, quality control, data collection, spreadsheet maintenance, as well as various other viticulture and enology activities.
The Pahlmeyer Harvest Enologist provide hands-on support to our full time Enologist, working closely with her to complete all lab analysis, fermentation tracking, and interface with the cellar team. Principal among the Harvest Enologist’s responsibilities will be: sampling at fruit reception, fermentation monitoring, nutrient additions, chemical analysis using various lab equipment, data collection, interpretation and communication of analysis results and database management.
Key among the requirements will be an exceptional positive attitude, work ethic and great attention to detail. We require a degree in viticulture, enology or related college degree, and at least two years of experience working in wine production. Furthermore, candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs., work under minimum supervision, and work for extended hours, including weekends
Starting dates will range from July to August, and conclude in November or December, depending on the vintage and specific role of each intern.
