An ultra-premium historic Napa Valley Winery that produces handcrafted wines seeks a refined, creative and insightful leader with stellar presentation skills to manage direct to consumer operations at the winery. This person will possess superior management skills and have the confidence to take a sales team and remold it for ultimate success.
The Director of Retail Operations is responsible for exemplifying stellar customer service to maintain the highest of standards and brings the ability to train and motivate staff to these set standards. The primary goals are to strategically and tactically enhance the image and brand the message of the winery, elevate the level of the guest’s experience and achieve sales and revenue goals.
While reporting to and working closely with the owners, the diverse duties include managing all day to day operations of the tasting room, developing and training a staff, budget adherence and financial reporting, wine inventory control, effective and deliberate industry outreach to develop new business, and collaborating on local and e-commerce marketing efforts that further promote the brand.
The qualified candidate ideally brings a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of wine industry experience and supervisory experience of direct retail sales or food and beverage plus a strong knowledge of wine and wine production are all necessary. Refined customer service experience, strong leadership skills, effective communication skills, financial acumen, the ability to organize and delegate, and the aptitude to lead a team and business to a new level are all required. Computer expertise in Microsoft Office, POS software and Navision.
