Brian Arden Winery in Calistoga is currently accepting applications for a 2017 harvest intern. Being a small family winery, our focus is always on making the best wine possible with our numerous small lot contracts. This position will run from early August until mid December, depending on the season. Although temporary, this is an excellent opportunity to build your skills and experience while working with a young and enthusiastic team during our busiest time of year.
Here is a list of requirements for this harvest position:

-Have reliable transportation to and from the winery in Calistoga.
-Ability to lift upwards of 100+ lbs (empty barrels).
-Physically able to climb, crawl, roll, and stand for 14 hours, if needed. Harvest work can be quite brutal at times, so good physical fitness is necessary.
-Excellent attention to detail, especially when it comes to measurements and cleaning.
-Flexible work schedule, most likely working 8-14 hours per day and 6-7 days per week.
-Must be able to clean, sanitize, and clean some more. Set-up and clean-up is a huge part of harvest.
-Take pride in getting dirty, sweaty, and tired.
-Be able to change priorities on a whim with a good attitude.
-Enjoy a wide variety of music and beer.
-Sense of humor is a must!
This list is not totally complete. Being a small winery, we must all be able to take on many extra duties in order to get the job done. In the process, you will earn great experience and an excellent sense of accomplishment. Making wine is fun and challenging, and we are a team that loves it all. Only apply if you do too.
Compensation will be hourly plus overtime, and depends on experience.
