Santa Barbara County Winery is seeking an Associate Winemaker in Buellton, CA. The position requires an individual to work in tandem with Winemaking Director as well as various clients' wines. An ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years in wine production, a strong understanding of wine chemistry, true interest in viticulture and winemaking.

Job Includes:
-Working directly with Winemaking Director to manage and execute all aspects of production from harvest through bottling as well as substantial time in the vineyard
-Maintain tracking records of fermentation through bottling
-Harvest sampling
-Assist Winemaking Director with routine workorder writing
-Assist Winemaking Director with purchasing of additives
-Participate in blending and tasting sessions
-Review routine analysis
-Creating benchtop blending and trials to support Sales Department and Winemaking Director


Qualifications:
-Minimum 2-3 years experience in winery production
-Preferably a Bachelor of Science degree
-Have a strong working knowledge of wine chemistry and microbiology
-Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and able to work independently
-Be detail oriented
-Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many individuals at varying levels
-Fluent with Excel
-Be able to lift 55 pounds and be in good physical condition
-Have a good attitude and willingness to learn
