Sous Chef (Sommelier and Chef Jobs: Restaurants)

Mollie Stone's Markets is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for our Burlingame location. The Sous Chef works in concert with the Chef to accomplish the overall kitchen goals. 

Responsibilities:

• Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.
• Performs all duties of a Production Team Member.
• Ensure that food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet all standards.
• Provide complete recipes for all products produced in the kitchen. Develop and test new recipes.
• Ensure all prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Monitor food losses in the kitchen; maintain and update Spoilage sheets.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years experience as a Sous Chef in a kitchen with proven catering experience.
• Follow recipe specifications as defined in compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
• Serv-safe certified a plus!
• Passion for food and fresh ingredients.
• The ability to work in a fast paced environment, with a sense of urgency.
• Basic knowledge of ingredient information and nutri-facts for food products.
• Ability to operate all necessary equipment.
• Strong organizational skills; basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
